It's really quite shit. They were on of the best bands I've heard in years, and I had the chance to see them not too far from now, if they hadn't gone and bloody cancelled all their shows. The only consolation is that I've now acquired all their albums, and, through bootlegs, their live-only unreleased material. Small comfort though.

DA on the fritz?

Can't access half my stuff. Ah well.

Reason I'm updating? I wan't to brag about the gigs I'm going to: Black Stone Cherry (with the Parlor Mob) in October, Yes in November and The Answer (with Mammal supporting!) in December. All going to be fricking awesome, especially The Answer, as I've been dying to see Mammal. I'll take my camera to all of them, see if I can get some decent shots.

God that's awesome.

AC/DC - the best live band in the world?

Yes, no doubt about it. It was a totally awesome night, the music was superb, the stage show was immense, the atmosphere was incredible. No band can ever top them.

Took some pictures too, 130 of them and uploaded about five or so. I'm not the best camera man so they're not th e best photos, but they're pretty good by my standards.

Opeth.

Yeah, so my mate showed me a band called Opeth. They're pretty awesome; progressive death metal. Now, the progressive, calm, melodic parts are totally awesome, very cool and nice to listen to. However, you often have to listen to a lot of growling to get to them, unless of course you're listening to the Damnation album , which is entirely melodic. So I find myself listening to Mikael Akerfeldt growl, and not actually minding it, a lot of the time. Requires more listening I think.

Oh, and the guy who showed me them, well some guy fell on Melinda (his expensive guitar) today at school. Apparently it can whether be fixed and have a rattle when he plays it, or he can claim insurance. I'm in his band, and know how much he loves that guitar, so it's a shame.

Fleet Foxes.

So I watched an ad for their new album on the telly, to which the backing track was Mykonos, one of their songs. Today I decided to properly think about buying some of their stuff, so I loaded up iTunes (which I dislike, but it has a nice store for buying songs) and discovered that they had two selections- an EP and a full length album. The EP has only five songs, four of which I enjoy and a fifth I can listen to; and the album has eleven songs, about four I like (again) and the rest are mediocre/not so good.

Should be an easy decision (especially as there's only £1 difference between the EP and LP) but the EP has Mykonos, best song by the band without doubt. So I am at a loss for what to do.

EDIT: Apparently, me mam was going to buy the album for dad anyway, so I might as well get the EP with Mykonos. Problems solved.

On a different topic, I found Libra the other day, thanks to Lifehacker, and it's great. Spent most of last night inputting all my stuff, which was mainly PS2 games. Really nice tool, although development appears to have stopped.

Uhh, I also made a nice big, white Samurize clock to sit on my desktop. May upload that at some point, perhaps.

Long journal.
